Cookie Policy

Introduction

This policy explains how Litani (litani.ai) uses cookies and similar technologies. The short version: we use what's strictly necessary to make the app work, plus optional privacy-friendly analytics that only run if you accept them. No ads, no marketing trackers, ever.

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites store on your browser. They help sites remember information about your visit — like whether you're signed in. Some last only for your current session, others persist between visits.

We use very few cookies:

Local Storage

litani-analytics-consent — your Accept or Reject choice for analytics
Various UI state preferences (sidebar collapsed, guidance dismissed, etc.)

These never leave your device and are not sent to our servers.

Analytics & Session Recordings

If you accept analytics on the cookie banner, we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how Litani is used. This includes product events (for example, that a practice session finished) and session recordings that reconstruct how you moved through the app. Three things worth knowing:

Recordings never include your microphone audio. Nothing you say out loud is captured by analytics.
Every word on the screen is masked. Anything you type, and every phrase, transcript and conversation, shows as a blank box in a recording.
If you choose Reject, no recording and no browser analytics run, and Litani works exactly the same. Our servers still record a short list of product events against your account, which is set out in the Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Cookies

We do not use any advertising or marketing cookies. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no marketing trackers. The only third-party cookies come from Clerk (authentication), Stripe (payments), and, if you accept, PostHog (analytics).

How to Control Cookies

You can accept or reject analytics on the cookie banner when you first visit. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. However, blocking essential cookies may prevent you from signing in to Litani.
